I find I am able to hold presence during meditation but in fairness, that's a controlled environment. Do you have any suggestions for maintaining presence while at work say, around people? I seem to get caught up in my head when in conversation.

Hi Morgan. For me a key has been not making this moment wrong, or believing it’s not it too. Noticing you’re caught up in your head is also a moment of presence. You’ve noticed what it’s like to be you right now. From there we just keep noticing and noticing ... Big hugs - Jason

Yes. I had a wonderful Zen teacher for a time, and I remember meeting with him, telling all about my difficulties in sitting. He just asked me, "Why must you judge your sitting?"

Being in the present is a prerequisite for meditation and not actual meditation.
