Those countries who brag about no insurance at all will also tell you health care isn’t the greatest experience either!

Fun fact : I live in Denmark, where healthcare is free too. My wife got diagnosed with breastcancer 2 years ago, and got treatment. She's now 100% cured, and the staff, who treated her, we absolutely amazing!!

So, no complaints here.
-
Oh, I forgot to mention the free 3 (healthy!!!) meals a day + snacks and drinks (not just plain water, but coffee, tea and juice).
Daaaamn, it almost sounds like a stay at a luxury-hotel.

And yep, it actually almost is.
-
Great! Now look at your annual income tax/rate. You now know where that really came from and that it isn't free after all. For that matter, nothing is cause if you get something else for free, then that means YOU JUST DIDNT PAY FOR IT, SOMEBODY ELSE DID.
-
Josh... How much tax do you pay? I pay around 41% tax per month, from everything I earn. And I'm happy!!
I'm guaranteed things like free healthcare, free education (even with economic support for the students), etc.
We all contribute - but we all get a bite from the cake.
-
I too pay my Danish tax wit joy so that Jespers wife (whom I've never met) can get treatment. I hope I will never need that treatment myself but I know it will be paid for no questions asked if I need it.
-
Robert.
This may sound a bit "weird", I know. But because of what you wrote, I suddenly feel the "urge" to thank you (along with all the other taxpaying danes), for being part of making my wife's (and other's) treatment possible.
-
Don't mention it. Really. It's one of the benefits of being part of Danish society. Many of us get some ROI of our tax (I've had surgery due to a knee injury and my wife has MS) but few worry about the cost and not should you. Worry about getting well.

Moved to France 25 years ago. People ask me if I want to return to the US to retire. Complete public/semi-private coverage as I get older versus potential bankruptcy? Hmmmm....
-
Tough call Jeff, but you’ll get a cheap maga hat. Would that swing it?
-
Damn, nobody told me about THAT perk...
-
And it is made in China!
-
-
It’s actually gonna be cheaper to buy those outside the US than inside the US, due to tariffs.

Me. I'm going to have to file bankruptcy. I had to put all my medical bills on a credit card. Now I am paying interest on copays.. I work 4 jobs, 80 hours a week. Was completely debt free until 2015. Now, 7 surgeries later...total loss.

-
I’m so sorry. That is terrible. Tell all your friends and family why this happened, and drag them to the polls in November. We have to guarantee medical care for all. And that starts at the ballot box.
-
Thank you. It is terrible. Most of my friends are Democrats and are in the same boat. We all go to the polls together and vote

in Austin it is usually a blue landslide...the rest of Texas needs to get out and vote. -
There are way more Liberal Democrats in Texas than anybody thinks- the problem is, we don't show up in representative numbers, because we think we can't lose. But the thing is- Texas is in PLAY, and it scares the shit out of the GOP.
-
I can't figure out how to get those who dont want to rock the boat to the polls. The people who feel completely unaffected by anything govt or political.
-
You show them photos of children in cages and you ask them if they want to stop it. And then you give them a voter registration form.
