I've been doing this the past 3 days. I just keep making alts and not doing anything with them. I wish there was a "Save this build" option in the character select screen, right now I am using the snipping tool and onenote to save everything.
I'm so with you there - both with the save button and snipping thing instead... 
It's a little easier on Win10 thought as you don't need the snipping tool with Win+Shift+S (on a German keyboard, don't know if it's international)
