As far as I know, the ones in the PTR are the new 'base'. The real glow is to still be added.
What happened? That's the #Nightborne's new "eye glow" on PTR build marked as release (1st pic).

I didn't like the technique of the old eyeglow either. But at least the eyes really looked as if they glowed. I don't see that now. Looks pretty much like dead eyes to me now compared to the old ones. Like.. the magic is gone.

I've just seen someone tweet a picture of their nightborne in game (US got the patch already). It IS the new eye glow, omg! I don't like them at all! I'm so nervous to see my blood elf's eyes tomorrow.

Oh no.... I really hoped that you were right with them still adding real glow. That's bad. Belfies are better, though. Still sth to get used to (for me), but not as bad as this here
