It's much easier to cater to what the Classic community wants. An experience as close to the original as possible, so they know what the guidelines are. Modern WoW has so many people with such varied opinions, I don't envy the people working on it.
Seems like even blizz is forgetting about BfA's existence. 
My wowhead news page is a sad page with Classic news turned off b/c there seem to be no other news than those.
