In 1949, Sam Wanamaker saw a plaque in Southwark - all that was left to commemorate Shakespeare’s Globe playhouse stood there. “Why, that’s fantastic! Why don’t you guys rebuild it?” Almost 50 years later, he did just that. Happy Birthday, Sam Wanamaker - and thank you ⭕
