Okay, but under that “harassment” policy, even people like Maza could be found ‘guilty.’ It’s ill-defined, because it presumes speech can be innately offensive, which it can’t be.

Even aside from that, a lot of people arguing against Maza trying to deplatform Crowder (myself included) are doing so b/c we believe in fostering a culture of ‘free speech.’ While it’s not legally applicable here, it’s a concept that should be societally enforced.

I see absolutely zero downsides from censoring the subset of "Free Speech" that is literally just personal, demeaning, toxic slurs, it accomplishes nothing at best, and at worst just pisses everyone off. He's still welcome to argue central core ideas without all the ad homs.

The reason we have free speech isn’t to accomplish anything in particular; we have it because it’s ours by right. As for whether you personally see it as toxic, I can’t change your views, but you’ve obviously never watched his show if you somehow think he’s actually a bigot.

If you can watch this whole thing and tell me this should be tolerable whatsoever, then we are at a core, fundamental disagreement. Again, I only want to censor this garbage, He's more than welcome to make his actual arguments.https://twitter.com/gaywonk/status/1134264395717103617 …

Every single video has included repeated, overt attacks on my sexual orientation and ethnicity. Here's a sample: pic.twitter.com/UReCcQ2EljShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Giving someone tough shit for being a self-branded token isn’t a good enough reason to engage in censorship.

I don't care what the other person has done or if he's supposedly "Asking for it", it's still unacceptably demeaning shitty behavior and deserves to be wiped from public discourse.

That’s how it seems to ‘you.’ Again, you’re the one trying to control people’s speech. And if you look at it, him saying “lispy queer” hasn’t hurt a single person. Not one. It’s just a bunch of moral outrage that’s more based on Maza taking offense than any actual principle.

If you don't think Maza has been hurt by all this, you are simply not grappling with reality. Hell, just look at any of his threads to see 10x more abuse exactly in line with Crowder's comments. And yes you should be outraged by Crowder's behavior, we can honestly do better.

Maza has not been hurt by this. He took offense. Keyword being ‘took.’ Offense is not a metric by which we can gauge damage or abuse. And if you look at some of his posts, the main kind of ‘harassment’ he’s received is from people telling him to debate Crowder.

I dunno about you, but literally countless people knowing my dox would be fucking terrifying, especially when they are all fans of a single person who takes virtually every opportunity to personally demean and belittle you with known slurs.
