This is an extremely dangerous precedent to set. Am I allowed to be a massive toxic bullying shithead if I pledge some of my ad revenue to a medical charity or hire people to support my demeaning abusive behavior, churn out videos faster, etc?

As long as you don't incite violence towards others, go ahead. That's what comedy for the past 50 years has been about, pushing the boundaries of what is 'politically correct'

I'm sorry, but I don't think any boundaries are being pushed when you take *literally* every opportunity to call someone a queer, sprite, fag, etc. It is the laziest form of comedy, if you can even call it that.

It is the laziest form of comedy, because that's the type of comedian Steven Crowder is lol

I think even calling him a lazy comedian is far too generous. As far as I can tell, he is nothing more than a bad-faith, disingenuous bully who tries to hide behind his """comedy""" and his claims that he should be given mercy because people/charities depend on him.

All people have different tastes in comedy, but would you be willing to get 3.8+ million angry people plus a possible class law suit on your hands and ban Crowder? Put yourself in each person's (Carlos, Crowder, and Youtube) position and weigh it in your head

If those 3.8M people find clearly abusive, homophobic, bullying behavior comedic, then yes I want to piss them all off. And yes I want to ban him off a site that lists 'hurtful, personal comments' as justification for removal. He's welcome to make his own shitty social media site

I think I see where the confusion is coming from, this whole bit about 'hurtful, personal comments' comes off of the YouTube Creator blog, and it states this is only justification for at most a video removal and/or a channel strike (which Crowder received). So, punishment served?

As far as I'm aware, the videos aren't being removed, and I believe they could even be re-monetized again if Crowder removes the advertisements for the "Socialism is for f*gs" shirtshttps://twitter.com/thetomzone/status/1136136577372119042 …

Yeah that's right, although Youtube should've had a much more laissez-faire approach to the whole situation

They're welcome to do whatever, but it seems their conduct has been largely hypocritical, and I think it's more than reasonable to *strongly* encourage them to crack down on abusive behavior like this, regardless of the content creator's popularity.
