I will always be on Shaq’s side. The top half of the tank is smaller, thus less expensive to fill

Just to sort of (but not really) prove his point, they did a segment about this on NPR's CAR TALK and you definitely burn more gas with a full tank because there's more weight in the car.

No it hurts more because your wasting gas driving to the gas station 4x more than if you just waited until it was empty.

Should actually do this on the other side of the tank, empty to half. That way the weight of the gas isn't decreasing your gas efficiency
