I've decided that all of my tweets this week during will be dedicated to diversity and inclusivity. If you came for the technical tweets about C++ or HPC, I'm sorry, but this is too important. You'll have to wait a week at least, or there's an unfollow button there for you

Much of the standard library accepts “iterator pairs” as their representation of a sequence. This has some benefits, such as the algorithms not needing to know anything about the underlying container. This also has some drawbacks, such as algorithms not being able to know anything about the underlying container.

Today I discovered there's a compiler flag that *almost* brings NVCC's lambda up to C++11 compatibility standards. The flag is `-Dpublic=private`.

One of the best announcements we were able to make was the continuation of our scheme for not only this incredible conference, but for and our first ever Summit in 2020! Thank you and for being our Corporate Champions!

...I absolutely will do so for any woman, person of color, or other underrepresented minority who wants to reach out to me. Never again do I want to end up in a situation where the only options for C++ committee members to serve on a panel at Supercomputing are men. (end thread)

...in these terms makes even one person more likely to reach out to me, it will be worth it. If you're angered by this, I'm sorry—"discrimination" doesn't mean what you think it does. I am under no obligation to put aside other priorities to mentor a complete stranger, but...

...to help increase the number of white men on the C++ committee is quite minimal. Diversity and inclusivity is a priority for me though, and in that particular case other priorities can wait. I know I'll probably get a firestorm of criticism for this, but if talking about it...

Also, briefly, I wanted to address the idea that I'm being "discriminatory" by not extending this offer to the white male majority. I have plenty of mentoring relationships with white males, but I only have limited time, and my motivation to find a way to make time...

If it helps anyone who would otherwise feel awkward reaching out to me, I've already had one person reach out, and we had a wonderful talk about what and how she wants to contribute to C++ standardization, as well as how I can help. My direct messages are open; please reach out!

During the C++ BoF panel at this year, I made the offer that I would find a way to make time for a mentoring relationship with any woman, person of color, or other minority who wants to get involved in C++ standardization. I'm repeating this here to show that I'm serious.

So happy to see sign language translation for the keynotes at . Not only is this an essential service for the deaf community, but also it’s a highly visible way to show the broader disabled community that accessibility is a priority. More of this at big conferences, please!

Hot take: if you claim to be an ally, but attending diversity and inclusivity workshops/dinners/events is "not your thing" or otherwise not a priority, you're part of the problem. If you're too busy for D&I, you're not an ally.

Attention attendees: the gender neutral restroom is mislabeled on the conference map and app. It exists, but it's near the first aid station. Please help spread the word; this mistake *will* lead to someone who is not yet ready to ask being very uncomfortable this week.
