The fact that everybody carried all their school stuff in backpacks for the first eighteen plus years of their life is probably why back problems are so prevalent.

Or maybe they don't sit properly and have back problems from poor posture? People these days try to blame anyone/anything but themselves.

At one point I carried everything in a shoulder bag which did tend to get quite heavy. Carrying that was way worse than carrying a backpack has ever been cause the weight was all on one shoulder.

I didn't carry a backpack until I went to college, & back then we didn't think it was 'cool' if you wore them like a backpack. You slung it on one shoulder & went about your day. I jacked my back all up from doing that for 5 yrs. Live & learn.

Or maybe I was then at my fittest and back issues start from sitting all day in car, then an office and then at home in the evening also........for years.
