It’s pretty rare to use an entire pen without losing it first. On the other hand, It’s pretty common to find a pen already out of ink, so it’s a paradox in a way.

There is a parallel universe out there filled with half used pens, single socks, work toilet paper and tea spoons.

It's pretty rare to see ones who return the lost pen and pretty common to see thieves around. A paradox in a way. 😊

I think you mean Ironic instead of paradox. A paradox implies that it defies logic, whereas it is only logical (yet unfortunate) to find an empty pen. http://typesofirony.com/the-3-types-of-irony/ …

But if everyone loses their pen before finishing it, how is it possible to find an empty pen. That is the paradox

You’re assuming that everyone loses their pen without finishing it first. The paradox lies within seeing something from a very small point of view, making it seem like it defies logic. Losing full pens and finding empty ones defies expectations, not logic.

The real problem is your lack of a sense of humor. Obviously not all pens get lost with ink in them, and I’ve found plenty of pens that still work. It is a paradox if you base it off of the stereotype, which is what makes it a joke. It isn’t a factual observation, it’s a joke.
