I’d be lying if I said I haven’t wondered where my phone was while I was talking on the phone.

True. I've also heard "Anxiety is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but never gets you anywhere."

Or wondering where your phone was while listening to music on it.

This hits too close to home. I've actually done this before...

No, anxiety is seeing the cliff up ahead but you know you can’t stop!

No, this isn't what anxiety is like. Anxiety is being scared to do certain things/anything for no real reason. Having a panic attack is feeling like you can't breathe and that you're going crazy because you're sobbing on the floor for no reason. Anxiety is so much worse than this

Being afraid to meet up with friends because you think they will judge and hate you even though you know they never would. There is just a nagging feeling in the back of your mind telling you, you aren't worth their time though you know for a fact that is wrong

@KateD412 KateD412, nailed it! All other responses, while hilariously puerile, fail to frame what is a serious mood disorder. Hilarity helps mitigate it, for sure (at least this sufferer), but, please don't make so light of understanding a true, possibility debilitating, disorderThanks. I think it's more like driving 80 mph and then suddenly the throttle sticks and your steering wheel comes off.

Actually, turn 50 and see what is inevitably going to happen very clearly - and know there is nothing you can really do to stop it...there’s some anxiety!
