My first boss said it wasn’t so much the degree I had but more that I had succeeded under pressure and achieved good results in my studies and that’s what he was looking for. Still used leanings throughout career but life’s learnings followed.

A college degree is a stepping stone and a door to avenues that some of would never have been afforded because of our poor backgrounds, I believe I speak for the bulk of my people, Zimbabwe context.
