It’s not the act of being honest that gets you punished... the act you did that you had to be honest about.....

but people often don't know how to sit down and say why the punish is coming (in this case I'm talking especially abt kids). so the person associates honesty and punishment. it's basic behaviorism.

Sometimes honesty needs to be punished
-
That's where you're wrong.

Maybe just me, but I feel as if there's a hidden message here saying if we're honest, we shouldn't have consequence.

Short term punishment fear drives you into lying, but this trap opens up such a big hole that you keep being pulled into this endless pit

The irony is i'm not about what a person does, i'm about the sincerity of the person. Open up and tell me, i'd stand, love and fight for you. But lie to me? Like everything is gone!
-
So if they killed your mother and told you the truth, would you accept them then?
-
Honestly, the truth hurts... no one said I won't get mad. But, i'd always come back eventually to them. Telling me the truth spells sincerity. it says: You can trust me.
-
As per applying it to my mother, it means whatever devil that was in them has left. Yes, i'd be mad... but saying the truth softens the pain.
