    Shower Thoughts‏ @TheWeirdWorld Feb 27

Depressed or anxious characters in movies are critically appreciated, but people with these conditions are often shunned or ignored in real life and told to ‘snap outta it’ by many.

Depression and anxiety are very much ignored and underrated in our country still in 2018. Ppl seldom approach to psychologist and keep on living with burden.

Its very difficult to detect depression. Loneliness, aloneness, sadness , depression, all intermingle.

Only the person undergoing it can be in a better position to describe. But seems to me the increasing trend of self centeredness has a lot to do with this problem.

Are we supposed to appreciate mental illness?

No but I think we should have an open mind to it and be more understanding of what it is and what causes it

The OP thinks mental illness is a movie and that we should appreciate and entertain it.

The OP is identifying and expressing how people act towards mental illnesses in real life compared to fiction.

Like we actually give a damn as opposed to just assuming they're exaggerating or waving it off as a problem that doesn't concern us.

It really is irritating when people say the two are signs of weakness, or that someone is overreacting, or selfish. 😒 I've heard em all.
