I’ll never understand why some people feel their kids owe them something. The kid didn’t bring itself into this crazy world.

I mean, my mom has taken care of me for 18 years, and will continue to help when needed. I do owe her. I owe her a lot. They may have brought you into this world, but if they love and care for you, then they did nothing wrong, and you owe them for that.

I don't think "owe" is the word. Maybe appreciation and gratefulness? Owe is kinda like if you're in debt and need to pay it off. I definitely don't feel that way towards my parents.

I felt that way when I was a kid. Then I became a parent and they absolutely owe me something for putting up with all their BS.

Yeah but see, that's a self conflicted problem. they didn't ask to be brought alive and they didn't bring themselves here so really, you owe yourself an apology for causing this trouble. If you hadn't had a kid/children, you wouldn't have had to deal with all that bullshit. JS :)

It really depends on how good a parent they were. Good parents deserve to be taken care of in their later years.

Just feeling grateful is a little better than feeling you owe so sth, don't you think so

Yes, I agree. We “owe” our parents gratitude for giving us life & doing their best in their own brokenness to provide for & raise us. No one asks to be born but we should still try to look at Life as a gift...at least in my opinion 🙏🏻

You should've done a better job at parenting then.

Also, it was not my intention to insult you or your parenting skills. It was meant as a comment on parenting in general. I know parenting is very hard and I have much respect for the people who try to be a good parent. :)

Not your decision but she chose to keep you raise you right(hopefully) not abuse you. Some gratitude is in order. Well actually be grateful for the life she granted you. I'm grateful for my mom and I owe her a lot of respect for being a great mom to me
