I’ve never come across a better consistent source of information than Wikipedia despite always being told how unreliable it is.

Wikipedia has citations asst the bottom so you can source the info yourself. College hack, cite the source Wikipedia cites instead of citing Wikipedia itself.

High school teachers: Wikipedia is not a source! Wikipedia: *literally gives you the citations in any format you need if you have to cite the article for school

It is approximately as unreliable as a regular enyclopedia. If you were trying to write a news article or something you should follow the citations to check the sources. If you just want to know who Michael Nesmith was then it's fine obviously

I hated it when teachers were like, "you can't use the internet as your source, you have to go to the library use real books.." ....ok but why though!???

I found Wikipedia to be very reliable. Including the citations at the bottom. But it's kind of funny because I found a set of twins and if you go to each of their pages it's different information on both of them. No really important differences though.

I have noticed that is only the people who do not know how to use Wikipedia are the ones that say it is on reliable.

So is it reliable if it cites itself which has cites with the cites that come from reliable sources?

People who denigrate Wikipedia generally are people who will try and minimize every piece of proof you have that doesn’t validate their worldview
