Hmmm...good question. Perhaps, because one actually prevents the spread of STD and the other is just a VERY large bandaid?

stds are preventable. people choose to have sex. no one chooses to bleed out of their vagina every month.
-
Well in America today apparently you can now..

with birth control, but not everybody has the money for that

If women’s monthly needs are going to be free, I will demand free deodorant and toothpaste.
-
So everyone gets free deodorant, toothpaste and menstruation products each month. Doesn’t hurt me!

Condoms are for safe sex, menstruation products are sanitation aids not sexual products. But really why the fuck are tampons slapped with a luxury tax? Is it a luxury to not have your nice jeans ruined with blood stains?
-
Maybe don’t wear your nice jeans then

Toilet paper and diapers aren't free.

i'd be fine getting those free too

Or, you could just pay for them and stop expecting handouts

Because condoms aren’t the same as tampons or pads ,condoms prevent STIs which are major health issues worldwide( it’s like saying vaccines are free so should tampons ) havin free menstrual products might save pockets but let’s be honest no lives
-
In underdeveloped countries, if girls even get the ability to get an education , they miss a week or more of school each month for their period. Even if menstruation products weren’t free, the luxury tax should be removed. Containing bleeding doesn’t sound like a luxury to me.
-
In addition to missing out on School, these females also get infections due to using unsanitary products, mud, twigs, leaves, etc.if females don’t have access to sanitary products, there will be more problems than dirty underwear and pants for that female (& possibly her partner)

There is actually a bill in the Michigan House of Representatives to make female products tax free. People still have to buy condoms but since they’re considered necessary health products there is no tax on them.
-
Products that benefit the masses and prevent the spread of diseases, unplanned pregnancies, and keep people with potential to reproduce healthy should be tax free. Michigan is doing it right.
