It's just a shame that the (United States) government puts way too much emphasis on standardized test scores to the point where teachers are forced to teach standardize test content instead of the actual curriculum. And what's the government's solution to failing test scores?

As a trained teacher, I totally agree. This should be the goal of basic education.

I “think” so. I’ve been out of school for awhile now and can’t remember exactly where I first heard it, though.

Good luck with the test in the Spring. I was able to use my “4” for college credit later on.

At this point in life... If mine would just think, gee I should shower at least every other day, then do so. I'd be satisfied.

Children are told at an early age what to think when it comes to religion, and then fear of hell discourages then to question it. Questioning everything should be encouraged because it's the way that the world advances. Learning doesn't just happen in schools.
