What if homosexuality was evolution’s path for protecting humanity from overpopulation? Like gay people have evolved a bit more, or differently?

For that to be true would mean nature intended for people of the same gender to be together, which would be totally false.

Nature did intend that... it's happening, it's natural so nature intended it...

Except it isn't natural, because you can't reproduce from it.

When the sun rises in the morning it can't produce another sun but it's nature. It's natural.

That can't be true, because animals can be gay too. And even then, every living being has the urge to reproduce. I'm not homophobic or against any other sexuality, but I guess homosexuality just has no productive “use“. I'm kind of scared to write something like this in 2017.

Don't be scared it's not like you're lying. I do think it's sad that you're scared, as many of us are, to write things like these now a days cause people are way too sensitive and take everything very personal even if it's not directed towards them.

Animals will "mate" the same sex for dominance more so than for homosexuality! But the fact homosexuals have a sexual urge shows the desire to reproduce is still there, it's just the attraction that makes it impossible!

I never said they don't have the urge. Otherwise sexuality, from an biological point of view, wouldn't make sense. But yes, you're right.

Evolutionary science actually hypothesizes that homosexuality evolved both as a way of controlling population and as a way to provide auxiliary caregivers, since gay men and women are statistically more emotionally tender.

Homosexual behavior has also been observed in other animal species for quite some time, so it's pretty evident that evolution favors keeping it in the genetic pool.

Population growth should not be controlled. It is only a signal to expand our realm of habitability. There is potential for habitation beyond the earth. The only question remaining is why we haven't at least explored the possibilities yet
