Well, even so, my point was to tell you why "pony" and "bologna" rhyme. If it's pronounced differently in other places, then so be it. But at least in America, it rhymes.

Rough has that ‘ruh’ sound, like in ‘rug’. Cough has an almost ‘aw’ Sound, like ‘awful’ (or ‘awe’). Sorry if this didn’t explain it well enough.
