Why don’t jedis turn off their opponents light sabers by using the force to press the button?

Password protected. Even the Federation can't hack it. Started way back in time with IPhones.

In theory you could, but your abilities in the force would need to be far superior to the opponent. Master Yoda did that at some points against far weaker opponents.

I think the question would be, why did kylo ren not turn it off using the force when Finn had it. Actually come to think of it, why didn’t Kylo Ren not just use the force to throw him about or choke him etc?

If I overthink the shortcomings (like stormtrooper aiming ability) it just spoils the film.
