Actually, God had separated men's language by making them speak different ones because they were trying to build a ladder to heaven. So God had to block their communication with each other.

Not completely random, mostly they were contextual

In order to become contextual a sound would need to start as a random noise in order to be accepted as an appropriate 'word'

There is no reason to think that the first creature to make a sound did it randomly. The simplest of creatures wit no self awareness, others awareness, or even a consciousness make sounds as a result of stimuli, so no, no need for randomness.

It really isn't, you're being pedantic with the nitty gritty of how random is an impossible task for the brain out of desperation to prove your point, before language an early human most likely would have simply pointed towards an object followed grunt to attract attention.

That's what I'm saying, the first sound uttered by an animal wasn't random, it was contextual

It couldn't't be contextual as there would have needed to be a predetermined sound associated with an object in order to create the context, the sound may have become contextual after the interaction but the very first interaction of this kind would have been a random grunt
