Home can’t be used as a verb, school and work can
-
But in the context of those sentences, school/work are nouns.
-
The point was you CAN use them as verbs. Similarly, house can be both noun and verb, therefore we must specify the instance by using to.
-
I am going to my house. I am going home. I am going to school. (No house:home equivalent for school)
-
I understand that there are other potential uses, but English doesn't really care what its potential use is in order to determine grammar.
-
*other potential uses, I should clarify.

Yea but you go to your house
-
But also a house is not a home
-
Is it not tho
-
There's a difference: A house is a building A home is a family
-
If i dont have a family I can't go home?
-
Of course you can! To your dog, your plant, coffee, music, lover or whatever makes you sleep at night lol
-
I can allow my pet and lover but my plant, coffee, music and my bed is not family so that said i think its clear that home is not family
-
and why are you so emo

That's because home is a state of mind. "I'm going crazy." " I'm going home"
