    I’m more likely to trust someone who is “99% sure” rather than someone who says they are “100% sure”.

        when they say 99% sure, if it turns to be true, they talk with certainty; also, if it doesn't, they still have that clever 1%

        No, 99% is 99% but that 1% is like another 50% which makes the total of 149

        cultural difference. Not sure why in the US people say they have "100% confidence". Worse, people who use "200%" expression.

        Cuz someone who's 100% sure is most likely 100% wrong, But 99% is trust worthy because they are sure and they aren't, mostly
