As adults we are told “Don’t bring your work home with you”, yet as youngsters all we were taught was that homework an essential part of life.

The evidence on homework is that it does not enhance learning. But that's what you get when you have a monopoly controlled education system.

To be honest, I’ve always felt it is mainly about appeasing parents whose expectation of education is to have regular homework.

If parents are expected to provide socialisation and life skills, teachers are expected to provide an education. They get more hours with children than the parents. Homework or additional reading should only be for children not hitting minimum benchmarks through disruption.

Homework are just exercises so you’ll learn better whatever you have to learn, like learning to play an instrument, if you practice you’ll be better understanding it. You don’t have to take work home because you don’t have to practice it.

Is one hour of practicing guitar enough to learn a different song each day?

Why each day? Dont schools teach a subject for a couple of days or weeks?

Lol no, that’s why you get homework. There’s no time to waste in only learning one subject for week. It would take like 30 years to get the basic education

Students cant do shit when all they do is sit for 6-7 hours while someone keeps lecturing for an hour, their mind just wonders off and they learn nothing

It's just busy work. God forbid the kid might relax too much at home. They're at school for 6 or so hours a day 5 days a week. They don't need homework.

No point bringing home work is working to build up your house. And that comes before worldly employment. The Bible tells me so.

Homework is unnecessary. Teachers and parents ask why students may be failing or their grade may drop. The answer usually is because they do not turn in homework. Its because its stressful. I mean, you have to deal with in school assignments and then your home life..Bad combo...
