As good as an idea this is, I have no doubt, I would not be able to function. I can't even avoid a wall that i'm looking at for f*cks sake. Give me an hour and I will be killed by something completely avoidable. Amazing concept though.

I can tell you from experience you can not function. You can not tell distance to most objects, especially objects that are close to you (like your hands). You can also still touch things in "first person", so seeing in third person is even more disorienting.

(A friend and I tried this in high school with the Alpha 110 and some crappy FPV goggles. Going down stairs was terrible. It was more effective to just close your eyes and entirely rely on your sense of touch.)
