This is a very common sentiment among millennials. Which is part of why millennials are the most educated, most entrepreneurial, most concerned about social issues, most traveled, most experiential, and least materialistic generation. We don’t keep up with the Joneses, we travel!

You do realize every generation coming up always thinks it’s the most educated, most entrepreneurial, most concerned about social issues, most travelled, most experiential, and least materialistic ever? Millennials are no better or worse than generations before it. You’ll see.
-
Except that the data backs it up. Millennials hold more degrees per capita, are the most represented demographic among entrepreneurs, both domestically and internationally, generating 160,000 domestic startups a month, and 10,000 startups a day in China.
-
Big deal. I could create a start up right now too... will it succeed? Will it create jobs for many? I highly doubt it but hey, everyone gets a participation trophy right?
-
Valid concerns, ones that I wish I weren’t on Twitter so I had more time to discuss them. Long story short, millennials aren’t looking for “jobs for many” corporations, or punching the same timeclock for 20+ yrs. they’re looking for things that corporations don’t provide.
-
I do agree with you about that. My own millennial is very entrepreneurial & currently owns 2 businesses @ 30 years old.

Life itself is fruitless. You can change whatever you want about it but the end result is still the same: you die and cease existing. Nothing we do really matters in the long run.

What about ‘get a job you love so you never have to work and stop buying stuff you don’t need so you can enjoy life doing fun stuff’?
-
What job is that? I still don’t know what I love so much and that pays me well at the same time
-
-
That would be very soul draining for me!
