Cos it's Zoë ( but hardly anyone seems to use the ë) anymore

zoey and zoe are not said the same ??
-
As a Zoe, I can confirm that they are said the same
-
i say zoey as (zoe-ee) and zoe as if it were rhyming with toe
-
I guess it depends on the person
-
i've grown up knowing zoe was said as if it rhymed with toe, i've never heard of anyone pronouncing zoe as zoey but it just might be where i live
-
My best friend's name is Zoë (she spells it with the dots above the "e," don't judge) and it's pronounced zo-ee
-
thats because its a tréma
