Its not VCs like that hold the tech ecosystem and society back. Its the hundreds of LPs, co-Investors, Founders, and decision makers that remain silent because:
1) They do not care
2) They are scared
3) They agree
I feel bad for him/them to live like that. Its sad

Joe is right.
Many great intellectuals such as have brought up such things.
They get labeled as uncle toms for not falling in line and asking hard questions.
I respect them for this.

They said that VCs don’t found Black founders because those founders need to first “fix their culture?” Can he point to a study of Black founders? Is their educational level any different from those from cultures he feels are worthy of his funds? His tweets are indefensible.

I think VCs also forget the founders are watching them. The number of times I got this tweet texted to me from other founders tonight (and many saying they wouldn't take $$ from his firm) is kinda wild.

Pretty disgusting stuff, but less important is that it is also wildly inaccurate

Ugh, definitely need some room for thoughtful, nuanced discussion in-between "VCs are racists" and "X people just need to change." As a latino who grew up low-income, I wrote from my perspective working in the VC ecosystem. We need fair, open discussion.

Disgusting, but it’s definitely not a first for Joe. Folks should know better than to work with this guy by now. Here’s another gem from a year ago:

Imagine the tech-bro hubris you need to have to tweet this and think you’re right. Privilege has nothing to do with anyone’s hard work, that’s the point. It’s you benefitting from the systemic oppression and disenfranchisement of others. twitter.com/JTLonsdale/sta…
