Highlights so far: someone who will sell you one square foot of land in Scotland and proclaim you a Lord or Lady for only $49.95, someone who sells dogs but for some reason can help you if you’ve been banned from Tinder, a New Age musician promoting his new Happy Birthday song

American Buddhist immolates himself to protest climate crisis inaction, following in the footsteps of Vietnamese monks during the Vietnam War and Tibetans in Chinese-occupied Tibet. Namandabu, namandabu, namandabu.

Cool thing about French voting (for expats living in the US, anyway) is that they give you two pieces of paper with the candidates’ names on each and an envelope. You put the one you want in the envelope and you put the other one in THE TRASH. Feels good

I too remember my last visit to Discovery Zone. I knew even then I was on the cusp of being too old for it, and I sensed in the decrepitude of its ghostly mall location the collective end of all our ‘90s childhoods. We yearn for pizza and ball pits, for television slime…

Every boutique in Los Angeles that used to sell bundles of twigs and earthy tobacco candles is now selling toddler clothes for adults and wavy pastel housewares. Do we have a name for this yet? Can we call them squiggle stores?
