I work in a hospital and it’s my understanding that most staff will count as healthcare workers due to potential exposure.

I work for a healthcare organization and all employees are workers, but they have different tiers. As an IT geek who works in a location with no patients or providers, I am "level 5" which means I'm the last for the vaccine.
-
As a teleworking computationalist working on medical research who isn't front-line, I better not get vaccinated before environmental services. Though, knowing that sometimes that stuff gets *contracted* and contractors are sometimes dead-last in things or dont get them...

I am a hospital pharmacist, and while I occasionally have to go to the floor and respond to emergencies, I'd put your dad ahead of me in the line. Our environmental services folks are more at risk for an exposure than I am.

Nurses, nurse's aides, doctors, environmental services, and respiratory therapy should be group 1. PT/OT, case management, pharmacy staff, and social workers should be group 2. Administration and everyone else (cafeteria, maintenance, info services, etc.) Should be last.

Yes. Anyone who works in a hospital should be on the list. I have the same concern about when teachers are vaccinated, (assuming they will before general population) regarding support staff in schools.
-
Gov of MA Covid update just explicitly stated, hospitals "INCLUDING FOOD and ENVIROMENTAL SERVICE STAFF" are first to receive vaccines. Enviro staff = custodians.
