Also underrated - the ability to stop them, slow them down, skip things you know are a waste of time, ignore them for a little while to go look at a different resource. In a normal student-teacher relationship, this behavior would not be acceptable!

Hasn't this been true about books too?

Not for the avarage human being. I personally in high school read Lord of the rings books, my friends thought it was crazy finish those big books. I later discovered I learn better reading on my own than being in class or watching YT.
