SF District Attorney Chesa Boudin today said SF Sheriff Deputy Jalen Rosales was been arrested and charged with possession of an assault weapon for bringing a modified semi-automatic pistol into City Hall in his backpack in November of 2019.

The crime is that the pistol was modified, making it illegal. Not a violent crime, financial crime, drug crime, rather a machining crime. Personally I don't care I'm not here to defend the sheriff's deputies, thats the SF Progs job!

My only point is that Chesa seems to find a reason to not press charges for other gun crimes that also include murder. I don’t see the evidence he sees so I can’t say he’s wrong, but his stated agenda is to a certain kind of person out of jail.
