No. Billionaires across the globe cannot continue to take in more and more while the working class in country after country are expected to get by on less and less.
For 30 years, the Family and Medical Leave Act has protected workers’ right to take unpaid time off work to care for themselves and their family.
Yet, the U.S. is the only major nation that doesn’t guarantee paid leave for workers. That must end NOW.
An important part of our economic plan is promoting fair competition across the entire economy.
You’ve heard me say it before: Capitalism without competition isn’t capitalism, it’s exploitation.
BREAKING: ABC News Host Jonathan Karl just broke it to Senator Marco Rubio that Trump let a Chinese spy balloon fly over the US 3 times.
I could watch his face on repeat 1,000 times as he hears this from Karl!
Let me tell you something. You're not crazy. Yes, there is something wrong in this world when a few people have billions of dollars, and millions of people have nothing. We have got to make certain that a dream and a vision for a decent society remains alive.
Happy Birthday to the late Rosa Parks! The civil rights activist who refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger.
Before Rosa Parks, there were other women who refused to give up their seats. #BlackHistoryMonth
A THREAD!
There's a subtext to the @IlhanMN expulsion effort that echoes through US history: From Paul Robeson to Muhammed Ali to Andrew Young. Black public figures who endorse anti-imperial critiques of US foreign policy are almost always punished.

Black History Month:
Rosedale, Queens (1976)
A reminder most of these kids are still alive today, it was not too long ago (some still exist today) that there were white only neighborhoods, & black people were accosted if they stepped foot on them.
JAMES BALDWIN addresses the the University Of Cambridge during his epochal debate with William F. Buckley in 1965.
This is oratory and content of the very very highest order.
To listen is to learn.
Opening argument from student David Heycock at the University Of Cambridge debate between James Baldwin & William F. Buckley Jr. in 1965.
The televised debate was on the question “Has the American Dream been achieved at the expense of the American Negro?”

I will soon introduce legislation to extend Social Security's solvency for the next 75 years & expand benefits by $2,400 a year. It is long due time we expand Social Security.
Black History Month is a powerful reminder that Black history is American history, Black culture is American culture, and Black stories are the ongoing story of America.
JUST IN: Prosecutors have charged William NICHOLS of Vermont with assaulting/impeding police. They note he overlooked a Capitol wall as another member of the mob urinated on it.
Under Trump, Republicans gave tax breaks to the very rich and large corporations. Now they’re saying they’re worried about the national debt and want to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Absurd.
There is nowhere in this country where a full-time worker paid the federal minimum wage of $7.25 can make ends meet — and yet many restaurant workers are paid a sub-minimum wage of just $2.13 an hour. Totally absurd.
It's time to end starvation wages for tipped workers.
If we've got the money to give the wealthy and large corporations trillions of dollars in tax breaks, we've got the money to expand, not cut Social Security.
Addendum:
Republicans can’t be concerned about “the dangers of raising the debt ceiling” because:
a.) There are no dangers to raising it. There are only dangers in NOT RAISING IT, or DEFAULTING on it
b.) 1/4 of ALL DEBT EVER ACCRUED IN U.S. HISTORY was added under Donald Trump
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen last week warned us that the GOP is about to use Jude Wanniski’s “Two Santa Clauses” fraud again to damage Biden’s economy and our standing in the world.
The Boston Globe is right. The Biden Administration should not allow Moderna to more than quadruple the price of the COVID vaccine to $130 when it costs just $2.85 to produce. The COVID vaccine must be used to save lives, not to further enrich the billionaire owners of Moderna.
Editorial: Moderna must acknowledge that its pursuit of profits is unnecessarily leaving many people unprotected from this still-deadly disease — particularly people who are poor, whether in the United States or abroad. https://trib.al/5226F6y
In the 10 years that the assault weapons ban was on the books, mass shootings went down.
The American people agree: Congress should send this ban to my desk.
Cost of a single dose of Humira for arthritis:
US: $3,216
Italy: $526
Germany: $420
France: $248
No. Abbvie should not have been able to jack up the price of Humira in the US by over 470% since 2003 - allowing it to make $114 billion in 6 years. We must end this corporate greed.
