I wear a mask because if the experts are correct, I could potentially prevent someone from getting sick and dying. If the experts are wrong, the most I’m out is the inconvenience of wearing a piece of fabric on my face. I often wonder who raised some of y’all.

Some people would refuse to entertain an opinion about what’s racist and what’s not from someone who calls a 55-year-old Black man “boy.” I’m some people.

Of course they weren’t. But you also know that fact doesn’t make the second, racist. You’re a smart boy but you can’t hustle everyone with that rhetoric

Go after people with mental illness how, Brent? And why? People with mental illness account for a very small proportion of perpetrators of mass shootings in the U.S. P.S. 100% of mass shooters share one thing in common: Guns.

Address mental illness problem before you start going after people without mental illness.

Let me ask you a question: After the penning of the Second Amendment — a compromise to reassure southern states that congress would not try to undermine slavery by disarming the militias that were vital to maintaining it — were southern Blacks allowed to own guns?

apparently the second amendment is racist. who would have thought.

I’m not sure how to break this to you, but if we’re the only country on earth with the right to bear arms, it’s not “God given.” It’s a thing a bunch of slaveowners came up with. Seriously, look it up.

the us is one of the only countries on earth where the right to bear arms is God given. one of the others is Switzerland, which is one of the wealthiest countries on earth. ask yourself why gun violence is not a major problem in the philly suburbs.

Had a great time last night talking with students from the Heights Philadelphia’s Health Equity program about the the Fighting Chance bystander first aid program and the importance of community-centered bleeding control initiatives.

A better question: Why is the U.S. the only affluent nation that struggles to prevent criminals from illegally obtaining guns on this kind of scale?
Quote Tweet

how many of those were committed with lawfully obtained guns?

I asked my kids if they’d prefer story time with a drag queen or to lock down in their classroom and cower under their desk or in a closet terrified as a madman with an AR-15 wanders the hallway hunting them. Guess what they chose.

Oh, sweet sweet John, I don’t live in a protected community. I live in a neighborhood where you’d be too afraid to unlock your car doors. It’s just that I’ve never lived with the all-consuming fear that others intend to do me harm. It must be awful.

since i have never touched alcohol in my life so i don’t collect beer cosy,s my motives are to protect my growing family. some of us don’t have the luxury of living behind the walls of a protected community.

Personally, I would’ve started with health care. But then again, I don’t have the luxury of staying home all day fantasizing about criminals breaking in and stealing my prized collection of beer koozies.

you are right we need more guns every state should make it a law for every American home to have a gun.

Gee, do I take seriously the geopolitical hot takes of someone who doesn’t know the difference between there, their, and they’re? Damnit, why must these decisions be so hard?!

Well, Australia is a long way from a free society. There covid lockdowns rivaled Chinas.

“You do realize more people die from medical malpractice… than by gun.” Then if, god forbid, you accidentally shoot yourself in the junk while cleaning your firearm, you should definitely demand that medics take you to the nearest gun store instead of the nearest hospital.

Your profile says you teach medical realities. Then you should speak more on mental health and what makes people go insane. Guns are tools. You do realize more people die from medical malpractice and fatness than by gun. Why not advocate better health practices to save lives

I imagine a lot of people in America suffer from the “root problem,” whatever that is. None of those people has ever committed a mass shooting without a gun. Take as much time as you need with that.

The gun doesn’t cause the harm. It’s the person using it. Instead of fighting to take away rights of law abiding people do something useful and fix the root problem

We’ve had more mass shootings in the past two days than Australia has had in the past two decades. It seems to have worked out just fine.

The reason alcohol-related traffic fatalities have decreased 45% since the early 90’s is because we didn’t just throw up our hands and say “Duh, what are you gonna do? 🤷🏽” The decrease is due to things like DUI checkpoints, ignition interlocks, and zero tolerance laws.

Yes n the criminals would still have them because they’re criminals, drunk driving is illegal yet there’s almost as many dui deaths as homicide gun deaths but there’s no cal to ban cars,it’s not the car n it’s not the gun,it’s the culture
