Important announcement re #TheSAS2020 (thread)
1/ After careful consideration for the health and safety of all stakeholders, we have made the difficult decision to postpone #TheSAS2020
2/ Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and the risks associated with international travel, we realized it won’t be “a real SAS” if we can’t share hugs, handshakes and beer glasses. We will do it properly when the time is right and everyone feels safe and comfortable.
3/ We will do #TheSAS2020 in the fall this year, in the September-November time frame. We have no information on actual dates or places but you’ll be the first to know as soon as we make decisions.
4/ You can expect an entirely new CFP and workshop submission process. Please reach out via email (see Twitter profile) with any questions or concerns. (/thread)
One more thing: we will honor requests for refunds. but we would prefer if you keep your ticket and use it later this year :) Thanks for working with us through this together.
Lame just booked my flights a couple days ago. Can we do an online SAS-mini as a community?
We can and will. Stay tuned, we will deliver something online in the meantime.
