“Unwise to display your shortcomings.”

It’s actually a fantastic ad lib stolen from David Niven who was standing at the podium getting or maybe giving out an Oscar when a streaker ran by.
-
Niven: "Isn't it fascinating to think that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?"
-
The best part is that Niven just tossed that off. He was delightful. I highly recommend his autobiography “The Moon’s A Balloon.”

Over the last couple years, I've seen "loose" for "lose" an incredible number of times. How can people mess this up? It's like nails on a chalkboard.
-
Fair enough, but what happened to 'of' in your sentence: "Over the last couple years" ?? Also, I often see Americans write "He would of cried" instead of "He would have cried" or "He would've cried" But most grating is: "He axed me" instead of "He asked me"
-
Fair enough, I cheated on of.
-
Dropping the 'of' in that context is common in the USA, but not elsewhere.
-
Still feels a little risky in the states. But I live on the edge.

He needs to get a grip.

Another option, Rick, would be to advise him that possessing and sending what is clearly a pornographic photo of a young boy is unlawful and then send him this:pic.twitter.com/1GlnO5uxVD
