Today is a special day. When asked for my birth date, I chuckle and say 1-20-30. Now, after circling the sun for 90 years, today is 1-2020. I came into this world in NJ on 1-20-30, and my mother was Marion Moon Aldrin and my father Edwin Aldrin. Here’s to 1-2025!

Today, America put the big question to rest: We got there first. We landed on the moon with 250 million Americans watching our backs. The truth is: That mission belongs to all of them, and to future generations of Americans who dream to reach the moon once more. #Apollo50th

Nostalgia came over me today when standing exactly where we launched 50 years ago at the Space Cnt on #Apollo11 to complete a mission set forth by John F. Kennedy to land man on the Moon and return him safely. I am happy to stand here today to say: Mission Completed

50 years ago today we said goodbye to Sea of Tranquility, we’re ‘first on the runway,’ and lit the ascent engine for home. The American flag we planted is still there. As we look back, let’s also look ahead – and dream of another American flag on the lunar service. It’s time.

How is everyone spending their quarantine time? After Apollo 11, I spent mine inside a secure building, the Lunar Receiving Laboratory, for 3 weeks - writing mission reports, conducting debriefs & exercising! Show me how you’re staying safe from COVID-19. #StayingSafeWithBuzz

It took 3 days to get to the moon, 3 to get back. 50 years ago today, we were ready to come home, looking forward to splashdown. What we did not know was that unity on Earth from the landing was probably the big event. In a sense, while out there, we missed it! #apollo11
