  I think its fine that Manchin doesn’t back ending the filibuster or the voting rights bill. But he’s got to come up with the fix. Saying this isn’t the way, isn’t good enough.

  Manchin should be asked how Republicans can get away with stalling a bipartisan-crafted 1/6 commission, and yet why was Mitch McConnell allowed to scrap the filibuster for SCOTUS appointments? I would love a specific answer on this.

  If Manchin cannot get 10 Republicans to support a bill that protects citizens access to the ballot, he cannot simply say the Senate filibuster is more important than Americans voting. If the filibuster is so good, why is it an obstacle to doing the right thing?

  So weird that people are continually surprised/miffed that Manchin caters to his electorate (republicans). That's what politicians do. Just think of him as a GOP senator; the GOP will always have disproportionate representation in the upper house, that's just the way things are.
