Of all the phony GOP reasons for purging Liz Cheney, the most repulsive scam of all is the idea that she opposes the GOP transition into a "working class party." Even more galling, this comes as Rs are attacking UI benefits for coddling workers. My latest:https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/05/11/jim-banks-gop-spin-liz-cheney/ …

The "working class" GOP's line: If UI benefits are competing with low wages, UI is the problem! Even conservative populists Rubio and Hawley are echoing this line. This supports @EricLevitz's point that the populist base is mostly small business owners: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/05/11/jim-banks-gop-spin-liz-cheney/ …pic.twitter.com/uOiZdT1QO1

Here's the biggest giveaway of all on the GOP's "working class party" scam. A memo by Rep Jim Banks, who's leading the Liz Cheney purge, outlines the "working class party" idea. It's largely attacks on wokeness, immigration, and Big Tech censorship: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/05/11/jim-banks-gop-spin-liz-cheney/ …pic.twitter.com/YakdsRmGgr

Not only punishment for the unemployed but an active effort to force people to accept even worse employment wages/benefits/conditions. The right wants serfdom

You might consider: importing large amounts of low skilled labor depresses wages and increases profits for corporations. Income gap increases and decreases mobility. That is serfdom.

What's the issue, Working Class Clem? That's the facts, here. The government is interfering with the market. The economy wants to boom, but they're capping it.

Not even sure it’s small business owners — not enough to sustain their campaigns! The Walmart clan and McDonald’s franchisees are who they look out for… UI is not $12 or $15 or $18/hr. They like Free Money Fed & want to suppress wages & “inflation”.

Well. Granted I made more than that in my previous job, but when I was getting UI (Jan-March 21) I was at $600 total, $300 from Feds. So that’s ~$2400/mo. Just under $15/hr, before taxes. Plus you know, no one wants to work in person service jobs now for various reasons.

Plenty of working Americans resent the fact that the government is paying people to sit on their asses when there's plenty of jobs to be had. The Democratic line that we need more spending and benefits is not going to work.

I'm a business owner. TN Dept of Labor sent me an email this morning outlining all of my options for turning in people who turn down jobs. They LOVE and ADMIRE the working class.

They are PINOs — populists in name only, posing as allies of the working class. Color them “noir”, as in PINOnoir. #PINO
