      An inspector has approved plans to convert an industrial building in #Watford into 15 bedsits, seven of which would have no windows, ruling that the scheme met the requirements of the #GPDO.

          The planners need value based principles for approving developments above tick lists. Like 1. Improving life 2. Above basic standards 3. Superior natural light 4. Increased space 5. Somewhere I would love to live.

          Sadly, they have "objective" checkbox tests by law. Planning committees have more leeway. That said, were you to make yourself available for point 5 for all housing applications we may get somewhere…
