Look I KNOW the MCU contains military propaganda, I just wanna watch flying people shoot lasers at each other Talk about it all you want but don't act like it's some huge moral failing to still enjoy this stuff, ffs

It is a valid criticism but at a certain point you have to recognise that most of the time the MCU has a mildly negative view of militarism and that Pentagon script approval is less about making individual films propaganda and tilting the wider film industry in their favour
-
Yeah, it's totally valid. It only bothers me when people get snobby about other people enjoying it anyway

You made a good point and then cited the absolute worst example you could ever make with black panther, which genuinely is all the things that are bad.
-
Nobody is arguing the propaganda isn't there, only that "shut up we know you're very clever let me enjoy my fancy explosion movies"

Surface-level film criticism has reached epidemic levels. I remember people accusing Interstellar of "normalizing" moon landing denial or some shit because a denier character was in the movie. Never mind that said denier gets mocked, to her face, by the film's main protagonist.
