Had this talk with my son just this week. He'll be 8 in May.

Cause he's black...

Point taken you did what you had to do
-
I heard her tweet and saw the eye roll.
-
Am I the only one who assumed based off the content of the post her done was either biracial or black??? Like common sense says if her son needed to be talked to about this topic he was black...people be ready to be petty for no reason lol
-
You’re not alone
-
Nope. I told y'all I felt it in my spirit.

Why do white people who actually shoot people get taken into custody instead of being shot by the police themselves?

Wow. You proved me wrong. My whole life has been a lie.
-
But that guy actually had a gun... typically when black men have been shot in recent events they haven’t had been carrying guns. Unless they’re deathly afraid of pipes....

This would be funnier if I didn't worry about my good friend's biracial kids so much!
-
Oh, it's horribly tragic, most definitely.
-
Her son's been racially profiled lots, stopped without cause etc. I always think he's just too smart to be affected, but that's not true, and I know that. So...worry!
-
If you get a chance, read/listen to the book, "The Hate U Give." It's really good. And there is no such thing as too smart. How can it not affect you? And even if everything is done right, it may not matter at all.
-
Thx for the rec! Her son is SO smart and kind! Lives in Oakland now. And yes, none of that seems to matter at all!
