This might be too real. Too on the nose. This isn't really satire. It's a real news story, with fabricated sources and statistics.

No not now but give it about 10 years or so, just look at what SpaceX accomplished, Innovation doesn't die, it just gets buried for x number of years, before reemerging. it also doesn't happen continuously , change happens in spurts that add to big things.

Because fracking isn't an innovation that is about to make US the top oil producer in the world.
-
Oil? How vary 1870’s of you. Looking at my calendar it is 2018. Time to move forward to better sources of energy. You know, the types that won’t run out.
-
Not an economist, are you?
-
I don’t see anything in my statement that even comes close to me claiming to be an economist.
-
Exactly so. Your belief that oil will "run out" marks you as not an economist. When was peak oil supposed to happen, again? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_oil pic.twitter.com/64nMi7XW9a
-
What the hell would an economist know about oil? You must mean Geologist?
-
Do the reading. The geologists have all been wrong for the past half century, partly because they don't understand economics.
-
I wouldn’t say they were wrong. New technology has allowed us to get to oil that they would have never imagined we could harvest. It is still a finite resource and will run out in the future. Economics has nothing to do with it.
