    PLTW Digital Electronic students using Integrated Circuits to create a device to control and diagnostic the sensors on a fireplace. They design their circuits on the computer, simulate to fix any problems and, then, build and wire their circuits.

    To design a structure, engineers need to understand the properties of the beams, such as moment of inertia (about the geometry of the beam) and modulus of elasticity (about the material). PLTW2 students experimented with a wood beam this week to learn about these concepts.
