#AskingAutistics - for those of us with, say, unchecked vocabularies and overly erudite diction that isn’t always situationally appropriate — how have you managed not to come across as a know-it-all to people?
I don't, primarily because I believe in life being all about balance. They're offended by highfalutin language, I'm offended that they can't form a coherent thought without worrying me that they'll inadvertently suffocate while getting dressed in the morning. To hell with them.

To be clear, I'm not saying that even a notable fraction of allistic people are less intelligent than a box of goat innards. Just that the Venn diagram of the ones that are, and the ones who get offended at "them book-learnin' folk talkin' all funny", is a circle.
