WordPress is the natural choice. If you want less of a blog and more structured pages, there are more complex alternatives.
I have a domain and web space. I want to have a blog where I can do more extensive writing than what Twitter allows. I want to be able to visually customize it to some extent. I also don't know the first thing about web development and can't afford to pay anyone. What do I do?

Medium?

Having looked at both Wordpress and Medium, I'm thinking that Wordpress is a good solution for my random shouts into the void that are a little too extensive for Twitter, and I can use Medium for more serious posts.
