I like that all anyone has had to say in defense of these 3 visual novels that were banned from Steam is "Valve reviewed the content and said they weren't technically porn!", plus some screeching about how since Witcher 3 isn't banned, it's a conspiracy against us LGBTQ folks.

A) An average game posted to Steam doesn't undergo anything more than a cursory content review. B) Let's not pretend here like a visual novel about frickin' carpentry would be subject to the same level of scrutiny - the mere act of scrutiny on Valve's part at all raises flags.

C) Based on actually having shipped multiple games across multiple platforms, rather than playing the perpetual victim, I can say the vast majority of first parties (Valve, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, etc.) don't *actually* screen every last piece of content.

On that last point, given the apparently questionable nature of the content necessitating review in the first place, it's perfectly plausible that someone decided to play the morality police, went through something like Twitch's banned game list, and forced Valve's hand.

And finally, a grand total of 3 games being taken down equals some huge conspiracy on Valve's part against the entire visual novel genre and or LGBTQ-themed games? I've got five bucks, I'll take a bag of whatever these people are smoking.
